Hybrid-polymer Electrolytes


The research on highly efficient large-sized Li-ion batteries continues to be undertaken dynamically with such examples as the electric vehicle and the home-use electric power storage system.
However, a lot of problems for keeping high reliability in the abnormal situation are still left.
Although battery with high reliability using solid electrolyte is examined, it seems to be difficult to operate in cold temperature.
Consequently, KRI is proposing development of a hybrid polymer electrolyte battery for use as a large-sized lithium battery which offers high energy densities and is very safe.
