Technologies for Life Evaluation and Deterioration Analysis of
Electrical Energy Storage Devices

Proposal for measures to extend life (reduce costs) based on
life simulations and deterioration analyses

Measures for life evaluation and analysis play an increasingly important role in developing large electrical energy storage devices for electric vehicles and household-use secondary batteries because they are required to have life spans of at least 10 years. In addition, there has been growing demand for reducing the costs of large electrical energy storage devices. The notion that long life is equivalent to low cost is one way of satisfying these requirements.
We propose measures to predict actual useful life (on-site battery life simulation) based on our durability evaluation data analyses over the years as well as measures to extend life (reduce costs) based on the analyses of deterioration mechanisms using the durability evaluation data.

We propose methods of extending the life spans of electrical energy storage devices by analyzing the deterioration mechanism on the basis of the principles of chemical reactions.
