KRI has developed flexible transparent film with heat-resistivity by hybrid technology in place of PI, PET, PC and etc.
Back ground
Current polymers are difficult to be compatible heat-resistant, mechanical property, flexibility and transparency. KRI has found that incorporating soft domain into hard matrix leads to successfully prepare the flexible transparent film with heat-resistivity, which was difficult to create to date.
Characteristics
- ◆Nano phase separation structure formed by incorporating soft domain into hard matrix leads to induce compatible heat-resistant/mechanical property and flexibility.
- ◆Forming freestanding film with thickness of few and few 100μm through combination of siloxane, urethane and crosslinking agent.
- ◆Flexibility without folds even if strongly bended.
- ◆Mechanical properties similar to PI and folding endurance (>10,000, 2mmφ).
- ◆Unique property causing by nano phase separation with soft domain optimally arranging in hard matrix.
Proposal from KRI
KRI will propose R&D projects for the functional application using the flexible transparent film with heat-resistivity.
Application fields are various, such as display, health care, medical material & equipment, automotive, housing , and so on.
